Dr. Krishnaprasad Chennazhi

A Scientist with specialization in Stem cells and Regenerative engineering using nanotechnology. Major areas of expertise include the possible uses of bio mimetic materials in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, synthesis of nano – scale scaffolds with novel assembly properties to influence stem cell differentiation, development of a bioreactor system for various tissue engineering applications, promotion of angiogenesis and vascular remodelling in tissue engineered scaffolds etc. Worked in drug/growth factor delivery projects which focus on controlled release strategies making use of nanoparticles for various applications. Developed Fibrin nanoconstructs by adopting a novel processing method and validated their use as controlled delivery agents for drugs as well as growth factors (Patent filed and published in Nanotechnology). Published many articles in various journals wherein these nanoparticles were used as delivery agents. He has 6 patents to his credit and authored more than 90 articles in peer reviewed international journals.

Dr. Vanishree is a passionate teacher and an educationist. She has her doctorate in Life sciences. She has done her Masters in Biotechnology and M.Phil in Biotechnology. Her research was on investigating the effects of occupational exposure to ionizing radiation on human cells, chromosomes and gene expression. She worked as Assistant Professor at PES University and was the Head of Department of Biotechnology in SRN Adarsha college. She has trained students pursuing Bachelors’, Masters’ , Engineering , M.Tech and PhD. She has guided various graduate students in their research and has also helped formulating research problem, analysing the problem and interpreting the results for research scholars. She has expertise in coaching Microbiology, Cell biology, Molecular biology, Immunology, Biostatistics, Downstream processing, Upstream processing, Forensic Sciences and Clinical research . She was a part of organizing committee of various workshops at PES University. She was also a resource person for workshops on Research Methodology. She is a trained carnatic classical singer and has interest in literature as well. Currently she is working as a freelancer and consultant, teaching various students from high school to research scholars, handling subjects related to life Sciences.
